In reply to your letter of the 8th inst. No.56328/1919, relative to the proposed transfer to the Colonial Government of certain War Department land at Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Army Council to state, for the information of Viscount Milner, that steps will be taken to ascertain whether it is now feasible to resume consideration of the matter.
In regard to the question of the Murray Battery site I am to state that the transfer of this property was agreed in principle in 1914, and so far as this Department is concerned the transfer can proceed, if the General Officer Commanding sees no objection, subject to the precise sums to be credited to the
War Department in the Colonial Military Lands account being
